Festival Volunteer

We Need Your Support

The success of the Back-to-School Festival depends on the dedication of over 100 volunteers who help us serve the hundreds of children and families in attendance. Our mission is to provide essential school supplies, backpacks, and other necessities to students in Cabell County and surrounding areas who face financial challenges in preparing for the school year. Your support is crucial in making this event possible and ensuring that every child has the resources they need to start school with confidence.

The success of our mission depends on the generosity and commitment of individuals like you. Your support helps ensure that every child has the essential supplies needed to start the school year with confidence. We welcome both individuals and groups to join us as volunteers in making a meaningful impact in our community.

Important Notice: Festival day volunteers must be at least 16 years and enrolled in Cabell County or surrounding county schools. To preserve the supportive and inclusive atmosphere of the event, we aim to ensure that all attending students feel comfortable and empowered. However, students are welcome to volunteer during set-up on Friday, August 8th starting at 7:00 A.M., and may also assist with cleanup at 5:00 p.m. on the same day.

Volunteer Opportunities

All volunteers and skillsets are welcome! This event offers many volunteer opportunities ranging from very simple tasks to more in-depth event organizing efforts like:

  • Serve on a Planning Committee: Serve on one of our committees in order to help with various aspects of organizing this large event. Committees include Sponsorship, Day-of, Communications, Supplies and Volunteer organizing. Opportunities available now through the end of August.

  • Festival Set Up: Help us count, unload and organize supplies, set up tables, and help with various tasks to help us prepare. Cabell County and surrounding county students are welcome to volunteer to help set up the festival on Friday.

  • Day-of Help: Welcome families, direct traffic, pack book bags with school supplies, help with distribution, serve as an interpreter and so much more!

  • Break Down: Save your energy during the festival and relieve tired volunteers by helping us break down after the festival. Students, sports teams, church youth groups are needed to help take down the festival.
